Our synthware glassware for sale is made from borosilicate 3.3 glass tubes. This grants the glass excellent thermal, mechanical and chemical stability.
This means that the continuous operating temperature range is -70 °C to 350 °C. With a transition temperature of 525 °C and a melting point of 820 °C. The recommended temperature difference for thawing and freezing is below 100 °C.
By following these recommendations and handling with care you will ensure a long lifetime of use for your glassware.
Many of our products use male and female ground glass joints, this allows systems of modular glass apparatuses to be assembled for a wide range of experiments. Joint size refers to the size of these ground glass joints.
When referring to the size of a male joint the diameter is first provided, then the length (both in mm). For example, the joint size 29/32 refers to a diameter of 29 mm and length of 32 mm on the male joint. The female counterpart is intended to fit the male joint and is therefore sized accordingly.
For an ideal fit glass apparatuses should have the same joint sizes where they are intended to be connected. Some joints may have the same diameter but different length, 24/29 and 24/40 for example. Such joints may under some circumstances be connected without any greater issue but will look strange.
